Welcome to this Fractal x BattleTabs update! We have exciting things to announce.

Fractal is partnering with one of our favorite casual games BattleTabs to offer a new play experience to our community. Players can now participate in BattleTab’s open Season on Fractal in their own time, and earn Proof of Play collectibles with their leaderboard placement to qualify for the grand Fractal Invitational.

Season 1 will take place for 3 weeks. Read below for more details.

About BattleTabs

BattleTabs is a Fractal launchpad game. It’s a bite-sized multiplayer strategy game of wits, strategy and a little luck. You can find BattleTabs on Twitter and Discord.

BattleTabs x Fractal Season 1

Starting on Apr 3, BattleTabs will launch its inaugural Seasonal Tournament on Fractal. Season 1 will continue for 3 weeks, ending on Apr 24. During the open Season, every player who plays BattleTabs with a Fractal Wallet will show on Fractal’s seasonal leaderboard.

Players will be ranked on Points, which can be gained in PvP battles of any mode. Winning a battle will give you 6 points, while losing gives you 1. The Season will be open to everyone, and players are allowed to use custom fleets.

At the end of Season 1, Fractal will issue its inaugural Season Collectibles, in collaboration with BattleTabs, in recognition of every player’s placement on the leaderboard. The BattleTabs x Fractal Season Proof of Play Collectible will be divided into 4 ranks:

  • Platinum: awarded to players who placed in the top 10% percentile on the Seasonal leaderboard
  • Gold: awarded to players placing in the top 40% percentile
  • Silver: awarded to players placing in the top 70% percentile
  • Bronze: awarded to the remaining players

The BattleTabs x Fractal Season 1 will begin on Apr 3, 11am UTC and continue for 3 weeks, ending on Apr 24, 11am UTC. The Proof of Play Collectibles will be distributed within a week after S1 finishes. They will be airdropped into players’ Fractal Wallets.

Qualifier (Champions Circle)

All players who earned a Platinum Proof of Play collectible will enter the Champions Circle tournament, which is a 7-day qualifier that happens after S1.

Eligible players will play BattleTabs as normal and their Points will show up on the Champions Circle tournament leaderboard on Fractal.

When the Champions Circle tournament finishes, the top 8 players will advance to the grand Fractal Invitational.

Fractal Invitational

The Fractal Invitational is a single-day live event held between Fractal and BattleTabs. Both communities will come together and witness this epic showdown.

The 8 final Champions from S1 will enter into a single elimination tournament and win from a prize pool of $500. The event will be streamed and broadcasted with live commentary. The prize pool will be distributed across the contestants and live viewers, with audience betting enabled.

This will be a big event and you definitely don’t miss out on it. There will be more announcements closer to the date, join Fractal Discord for more updates.

Players who received Bronze, Silver and Gold Proof of Play Collectibles in S1 are able to craft them into higher tier collectibles by combining 3 of a kind, through future BattleTabs Seasons. For example:

  • S1 Gold + S2 Gold + S3 Gold = S3 Platinum
  • S1 Silver + S2 Silver + S3 Silver = S3 Gold
  • Same for 3x Bronze = Silver

You can buy and trade these collectibles on BattleTab’s marketplace on Fractal. BattleTabs and Fractal are currently working on the crafting experience and reserve the right to change or update the crafting recipe.
